Afterthought - Menu and UI design

Afterthought is split into 8 cycles, each with their own art direction, mood and energy. A ton of enery went into respecting each cycle. The fonts changed, the UI changed, the sound palette changed, the soundtrack changed, the style changed.

Here are some UI samples of Afterthought's UI.

Menu Background 1

noisy, overloaded. I got a lot of inspiration for cycle 1 from "Ghost in the Shell" and actual trips to Hong Kong. I have relatives there. Wonderful place.

Menu Background 2

sepia, melancholic.

Menu Background 3

green smooth

Menu Background 4

slimy, liquid smoke

Menu Background 5

pulsing, entrancing
I used to frequent the rave-scene back in the day. Wilder days, long gone.

Menu Background 6

calming, smooth. As a city-kid, I found my relationship to nature relatively late. Roughly at the age of 22, I guess, I found a deep passion for nature. I still go hiking a lot, and take a lot of inspiration from nature trips.

Menu Background 7

energetic, manic
I had once seen this pink-gold palette on a shampoo bottle, while I was finishing a high-school project. Ever since then I have always loved this exact combination. It's been 9 years since then.

Menu Background 8

mechanic, gold, transcendental
I might love everything in Cycle 8 the most.
